Our business is growing fast, our network is expanding, and technology is fundamental to our continued success. We need an exceptional Head of Business Systems & Transformation to ensure our systems evolve ahead of demand, providing the resilience, integration and scalability required to support our future ambitions.
Reporting to the IT Director, you will own the strategic direction of our business systems landscape, lead a team of 23 and shape the technology roadmap that will underpin the next phase of our growth.
This is not simply about managing the systems we have today. It's about determining the systems we need for tomorrow.
The opportunity
You will take ownership of a complex ecosystem of business applications, SaaS platforms, bespoke software and data capabilities, ensuring they work seamlessly together to support a high-volume, nationwide, next-day parcel delivery operation.
A key priority will be to develop and deliver a forward-looking business systems roadmap that anticipates future business needs, enables growth and drives operational excellence. You'll combine strategic vision with technical depth, ensuring today's technology decisions create the foundations for tomorrow's success.
What you'll be doing
· Shape the future: Define and deliver the business systems strategy, architecture and multi-year roadmap aligned to business growth and operational priorities.
· Lead complex integration: Own end-to-end systems integration across applications including order management, routing, optimisation, tracking, billing and customer-facing platforms.
· Drive transformation: Lead major system implementations, modernisation initiatives and bespoke development, delivered through internal teams and third-party partners.
· Build for scale and resilience: Ensure systems are secure, reliable, high-performing and capable of supporting increasing volumes and operational complexity.
· Unlock the value of data: Lead data strategy, governance and business intelligence to enable better, insight-driven decisions.
· Lead people and investment: Inspire and develop a team of 23, manage budgets and strategic vendor relationships, and ensure technology investment delivers measurable business value.
What you'll bring
You'll be an established senior IT or business systems leader with the strategic vision, technical expertise and commercial judgement to lead a complex technology environment through its next stage of evolution.
You'll bring:
· Significant experience leading business systems, enterprise applications or a similarly complex technology function.
· Proven ownership of end-to-end systems integration and large-scale technology transformation.
· The ability to develop a strategic roadmap that translates business ambitions into scalable, sustainable technology solutions.
· Experience leading and developing multidisciplinary teams, ideally of comparable scale.
· Strong expertise in managing third-party platforms, systems integrators, vendors and technology investment.
· A sound understanding of data strategy, business intelligence, systems architecture and operational resilience.
· The credibility to influence senior stakeholders and translate complex technical decisions into commercial outcomes.
Experience in transport, logistics, parcel delivery or supply chain operations would be a significant advantage. Familiarity with ERP, CRM, TMS, WMS, API-led integration and cloud platforms would also be valuable.
