Working Foreman / Site Supervisor - Enhanced DBS Checked

Our client is a dynamic family-run business with offices in Plymouth and Andover. They have four decades experience in delivering tailor-made solutions to clients across the country, and now one of the country's leading companies dedicated to education and commercial interiors, offering everything from a single chair to a complete premises refurbishment.

They are experts when it comes to inspiring and productive state or independent school refurbishments. From science labs through to staffrooms and STEM centres, no project is too big and no budget too small.

We currently are looking for a working foreman to join the team, who is currently still very much hands on, but is looking to progress and pursue a career within management, good knowledge of all trades, and ideally from a carpentry background.

Mandatory Qualifications:

CITB Health and Safety Certificate

First Aid Certificate

CSCS card

DBS Checked

Relevant trade preferably carpenter

Driving Licence

Additional Qualifications (preferable but not essential)

SSSTS Site Supervisor Qualification

PASMA qualified

Asbestos Awareness

Skill Set

Ability to read architectural drawings

General working knowledge of main trades e.g. plumbing, electrics, decorating etc to enable competent supervision

Ability and discipline to follow and enforce risk and method statements

Planning works and forward thinking to ensure a smooth continuous work flow

Ability to liaise with the customer in a professional and respectful manner and manage variation instructions from them

Job Role

Daily communication with Project Manager and Internal Project Managers in the office

Forwarding material request for delivery to site

Managing the various sub-contract trades employed on the site

Snagging finished work and managing the quality of the works throughout the project

Daily reporting of progress and issues to the Project Manager assigned to that project

Ensuring the site is kept safe, tidy and clean

Willing to get actively 'hands-on' when needed

Flexible hours including possible weekend working

Punctual

Experienced at managing trades

High integrity and honesty

Reliable and dependable

Ability and commitment to go the extra mile when needed

You would be working on private projects in and around the M25, with various teams, South, East and North London, travelling to site in company vehicles.
