A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Warehouse Shift Manager to join a hugely successful 3PL logistics business that operates within Retail Fashion, ecommerce, centric and bonded operations. This is a truly exciting time to join their organisation at their Northamptonshire site as they continue to develop the warehouse function following unprecedented growth, something that is expected to continue well into the future. You will join a fast paced, friendly business, managing a team of shift operatives whilst reporting into the Operations Manager.
A minimum requirement of your background will be a proven track record at Team Leader/Supervisor/First Line Manager level, ideally having deputised for a Shift Manager, with an Institute of Leadership Management qualification at level 2 or 3.
You will be responsible that the objectives of the business relating to customer satisfaction, quality, efficiency, compliance and cost control are achieved through the running of the warehouse function. This will involve the motivation and development of your team. Within the role you will be responsible for ensuring a continual flow of goods, the unloading and correct allocation of stock as well as managing critical, timed KPI's working to target
Knowledge of and the ability to navigate and interrogate warehouse management systems will be necessary and the job holder should have sufficient capability to use the standard Microsoft Office software.
Communication and interpersonal skills will also play a critical role as the job holder will have to interface with representatives of the customer and colleagues.
You will be required to approach to leading effectively, whilst maintaining a safe and clean working environment will also be important, as well as ensuring that the team's operational training is completed in line with the Company's training and assessment records. Risk assessment and practical H&S knowledge at managerial level will also be required.
Colleague engagement and involvement is also very important to the Company and Shift Managers will be expected to embrace and encourage colleagues to get involved in site and group based activities that embrace their culture.
The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring individual and team performance and take effect steps to improve and maximise operational performance will be required through the effective use of informal or formal improvement process.
Innovation and a desire to assist the Company by being able to continually evolve and lead its colleagues fairly and consistently are a prerequisite for success.
You must be flexible in regards to hours of work and shift patterns, and when required to be able to commit to overtime during peak periods.
