Warehouse Shift Leader

Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Warehouse Shift Leader with 3PL/FMCG experience join a dynamic, successful and growing organisation which is positioned as one of the top three global optical retailers. You will join a friendly, pro-active and forward thinking business on a full time, permanent basis at their Kidderminster location.

The opportunity would suit an individual who has a demonstrable track record within a fast paced, people oriented organisation with direct influence of operational management and strategic development.

The scope of this role is wide and varied and your man-management expertise can not be underestimated; you will be a naturally energetic, motivational leader capable of creating a collaborative team work ethic and an environment in which people feel they are really part of the success of the business. You will lead a team of warehouse operatives in a pick and pack operation. You will inspire them to develop a culture based upon teamwork and continuous improvement, encouraging your Team Leaders to recognise and reward exceptional performance and conversely address below standard performance consistently and fairly. Exceptional communication skills and an ability to give direction will be essential. Ideally you will be degree qualified in a logistics/supply chain related discipline and IT proficient. It will be a benefit if you have ERP experience (SAP/Oracle) and WMS.

Efficiency and productivity are key drivers and your responsibilities will include establishing a framework for supplier relationship management and the monitoring and reporting of performance to achieve operating budgets in respect to safety, quality, delivery and cost. Experience in a high volume, and high complexity supply chain role where you have had exposure of inventory, demand planning and purchasing will be an advantage.

Due to the success of the business, they have invested in a new £14m purpose built facility, doubling the size of the current premises. This is a great chance to have a real impact and genuine influence on the development of the organisation.

Hours for this opportunity are 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm working Monday to Friday, with some flexibility at the needs of the business.
