One of the largest suppliers of Asian foods in the UK that deliver into Retailers and Foodservice operators has an immediate opportunity for an experienced logistics professional to cover their warehousing and transport operations. This is a full time, permanent opportunity and you will join the team at their London Head Office (NW). The position requires a commitment to 6 days per week working 7am to 4pm (with an earlier finish on Saturday). There is also paid overtime.

Reporting directly into the MD, you will have a proven track record in the FMCG sector as Warehouse/Transport Manager and will hold CPC to ensure compliance with the O license. You will have exceptional people management skills and be both motivational and engaging. You will balance your firm but fair approach to recognise a job well done and highlight areas that will need improvement. Your remit in this area will also extend to assisting with recruiting, staff appraisals, disciplinary and training.

Your responsibilities, in managing and overseeing the running of the transport functions in the warehouse will ensure an efficient, timely and profitable delivery of all customer orders, and in addition to building and maintaining successful relationships with customers and colleagues, you will achieve KPI's to agreed standards.

The role would suit a highly ambitious and pro-active individual who has a natural focus on continuous improvement. You will have a critical approach in looking at how efficiencies can be maximised and this may be through planning and implementing new design layouts, equipment inspections, monitoring space, setting aside areas for new stock, effectively deploying resources and staff and managing an accurate stock taking (rotation) system.

Health & Safety considerations are paramount, as are sound IT skills, excellent communication, planning, organising and leadership skills. Technical, analytical and sound multi-tasking skills will be a prerequisite.
