Job Description

One of the UK's leading logistics providers has an exciting opportunity for a Transport Shift Manager (FMCG) in the Northamptonshire area on a full time, permanent basis.

You will report into to the Senior Transport Shift Manager, you will be involved in organising drivers, vehicles and load planning, on a day to day basis. You will also ensure that vehicle maintenance and repairs are carried out within Company and statutory requirements.

The successful candidate must be innovative and self motivated, capable of working in a high pressure environment, as well as being able to make on the spot decisions. You should be well organised, have good interpersonal skills and an ability to effect change.

You will be a natural leader who is able to coach and motivate a team, helping them to achieve and exceed their KPI's and deliver on department objectives.

Your background must have experience of transport supervision / traffic planning within a pressured environment, with good administrative skills and be PC literate with the ability to use current software (MS Excel/Word/e-mail etc.).

Knowledge of transport and tachograph legislation is required, whilst possession of a national or international CPC is desirable but is not essential.

Possession of a LGV C+E driving licence is desirable but not essential.

Salary for this opportunity is £32k-£35k, working a 3 on 3 off shift pattern which are 12 hour shifts.
