Transport Planner/Coordinator (Northants)

Job Description

A very well established, independent haulage company, recognised as one of the largest in the UK, has a great role for an experienced Transport Planner/Coordinator to join their hugely successful, long standing business in the Northamptonshire region. You will join a very friendly, professional business that has opportunity for career advancement.

You will have the opportunity to be fully involved in a variety of cross-functional duties. Your responsibilities will include liaison with customers regarding incoming transport requirements, scheduling and allocating work to vehicles and drivers, de-briefing, planning full loads, groupage and multi-drops and responsibility for a varied and interesting administrative function including inputting jobs onto the Stirling planning system, monitoring drivers and their daily schedule to ensure compliance and the production of telematics to provide further information, checking and scanning paperwork and carrying out insurance incident investigations.

The role would suit an experienced transport professional, experienced in planning and logistics coordination and administration. You will be prepared to work towards your CPC if you do not already possess this, and you will have a good geographical knowledge with sound IT skills.

As the business is a very friendly, family run organisation, it is essential that you are flexible, self-motivated, pro-active and can use your initiative. You will possess excellent organisational and communication skills, be able to think on your feet and be capable of dealing with, at times, a pressured role. A confident personality, with an ability to hold your own, and manage a team of drivers will be essential.

The position is offered on a Monday to Friday working 8am-6pm. Some flexibility is required at the needs of the business.
