A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Transport Planner (radial) a leading UK warehouse and distribution business in the Derbyshire area on a full time, permanent basis. This is an exciting time to join the company which is experiencing significant growth. Key for the client in consolidating their position in the market is to find the right talent that will support and shape their plans for further expansion and development.
You will join a friendly, busy transport team where you will be capable of juggling multiple priorities and will arrange the delivery of the customers' products on time and in full using the most cost effective means possible and best use of available resources, whilst complying with Transport Legislation and Health & Safety. You will demonstrate sound geographical knowledge and whilst CPC is an advantage it is not essential.
To be successful you will need to show the right attitude, work with a sense of urgency and accuracy and be passionate about delivering an exceptional customer service (you will naturally work to high professional standards) There will also be a strong administrative support function to the transport team, so exceptional organisational skills will be required in addition to debriefing, pre-briefing and query resolution.
The role would suit a flexible, hands-on individual who has similar experience within the logistics sector who is used to working under pressure, to targets/KPI's with critical deadlines. You will naturally enjoy taking responsibility for any continuous improvement initiatives that you identify as having a positive impact on the department.
Experience in FCL, LCL and Palletways would be an advantage, as would experience in using Maxoptra and Sterling Geo planning software.
Salary is £25,500-£27,000, dependent on experience. Working hours will be Monday to Friday 2pm to 10pm (37.5 hour week).
