Transport Planner & Administrator

Job Description

A busy and expanding frozen, chilled and ambient distribution business has a new opportunity for an experienced transport planner to join the team at their offices in Corby on a full time, permanent basis. This is a great organisation to be part of that truly values integrity, honesty and the provision of an exceptional level of customer service. The focus is very much on doing things right and in working in partnership with their customer base.

As a small yet expanding business, the role would suit a very down-to-earth individual that is happy to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in. It is a very friendly, team focused working environment and would suit an experienced and flexible transport planner who can also offer essential administrative support to the business. Your remit however, will predominantly focus around transport planning for a small fleet of vehicles. It is essential that you are an experienced manual planner with sound geographical knowledge of the UK. A very pro-active, intuitive nature would lead to your success in this role to spot opportunities to ensure route planning is as efficient and as profitable as possible. As such a good understanding of vehicle configuration and back load opportunities will be required.

This can be a fast paced, challenging role, as the client operates in the FMCG food sector on a day one for day one basis. Whilst the role is Mon to Fri 8am to 5pm, flexibility will however be key, as there would be an initial requirement to have access to a phone and lap top (which is provided) to cover one weekend in four.

To be successful you will need to show the right attitude, work with a sense of urgency and accuracy and be passionate about delivering an exceptional customer service (you will naturally work to high professional standards) Exceptional organisational skills will be a prerequisite.

Salary for this opportunity is c£25K, and 28 days holiday
