Transport Planner

Job Description

A well respected integrated logistics business that operates across road, sea and air on a global basis has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Transport Planner to join their growing team in the Daventry area on a full time, permanent position.

The position would suit an individual who comes from a manual transport planning background who fully understands weight and size restrictions and the planning of unusual loads as the distribution of their clients' products includes heavy machinery parts, which can be oversized and certainly not your typical product base.

This is very much a stand alone position and it will be your responsibility to work with the team of drivers to ensure maximum efficiencies are achieved through effective route planning on multi-drop deliveries. You must possess sound geographical knowledge and have excellent interpersonal communicational skills to be able to communicate at all levels. The role will at times be challenging, demanding and highly pressured, but it will also provide variety and autonomy.

You will need to demonstrate common sense, retain a professional, diplomatic approach (with a sense of humour), be able to pick things up quickly, think on your feet and be strong minded with a strength of character whilst retaining a positive attitude at all times. You must be computer literate and must possess a proactive, pragmatic and organised approach to your planning duties.

You will work Monday to Friday 5am to 2pm. Salary for this opportunity is £21k, with midweek overtime paid at £15 per hour and £22.50 per hour on a Saturday. Saturday overtime is on a rota (one in two or one in three dependant on staff levels) Overtime during the week is just 1-2 hours, where required.

This is an exceptional opportunity to be part of a hugely successful, financially stable and expanding logistics business where there is genuine opportunity for career advancement.

For immediate consideration, send your CV without delay!
