Position Transport Coordinator (Northants)
Salary £21K - £25K (dependent upon experience)
A very well established, independent haulage company, recognised as one of the largest in the UK, has a great role for an experienced Transport Coordinator to join their hugely successful, long standing business in the Northamptonshire region. Reporting directly into the Transport Manager, you will provide essential support to the department and have the opportunity to be fully involved in a variety of cross-functional duties. Your responsibilities will include liaison with customers regarding incoming transport requirements, scheduling and allocating work to vehicles and drivers, debriefing, planning full loads, groupage and multi-drops and responsibility for a varied and interesting administrative function including inputting jobs onto the in-house system, monitoring drivers and their daily schedule to ensure compliance and the production of telematics to provide further information, checking and scanning paperwork and carrying out insurance incident investigations.
The role would suit an experienced transport professional, experienced in planning and logistics coordination and administration. You will be prepared to work towards your CPC if you do not already possess this, and you will have a good geographical knowledge with sound IT skills.
As the business is a very friendly, family run organisation, it is essential that you are flexible, self-motivated, pro-active and can use your initiative. You will possess excellent organisational and communication skills, be able to think on your feet and be capable of dealing with, at times, a pressured role. A confident personality, with an ability to hold your own, and manage a team of drivers will be essential.
The position is offered on a Mon to Fri rotating basis, Week 1, 11am to 8pm, week 2, 6am to 3pm
