Transport Administration Clerk (Croydon)

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a global market leader in the logistics industry in the capacity of Transport Administration Clerk at their site in Croydon.

Reporting directly into a Transport First Line Manager you will provide essential support to the team covering the following areas: liaison with the team of drivers, inputting information from driver return runs into the debrief document in Excel, consignment processing, proof of delivery administration, scanning documentation, providing back up paperwork for invoices, answering the telephone, dealing with queries, building effective relationships with drivers, updating scheduling records, controlling the inbound and outbound plan, creating shipping notices, controlling the process flow and providing excellent levels of customer service.

The role would suit a highly pro-active individual who has worked in a busy transport office previously and who understands the pressures that this type of role can bring. It is essential that you have superb attention to detail, possess excellent communication and organisational skills and can demonstrate flexibility with a can-do attitude. An ability to work to deadline, and prioritise your work is essential. Certain strength of character will be required not only in dealing with drivers but also to manage a busy workload.

Proficiency with Word and Excel will be required as will a team focused work ethic to achieve departmental standards. Continuous improvement will come naturally to you and you will enjoy identifying areas that can be made more efficient.

The alternating shifts for this position are 5.30am to 1.30pm and 1.30pm to 9.30pm with one shift in every three required at a weekend.

Salary for this opportunity is £21k plus pension and could include other company benefits. There is genuine scope for progression within this fantastic organisation. Personal development is key to our client.
