Technical Systems Manager

Job Description

Our client is a highly successful, market leading, food manufacturing company in Leicester

Due to continued success they are now looking to recruit a Technical Systems Manager paying in the region of £40,000 per annum

The Technical Systems Manager will report to the Technical Manager and will be responsible for managing the technical systems function ensuring the company is compliant with customer codes of practice and takes into account all aspects of food safety, quality and legality.
Main duties will include: managing and leading the Systems function maintaining strong leadership, always ensuring a well structured QMS is in place and that it reflects the needs of the business and customer requirements; manage the calibration of all key equipment and ensure certificates are up to date; managing the internal audit process for hygiene, GMP, systems and CCPs ensuring it operates effectively to drive continuous improvement and that the audits are carried out by competent auditors; support the production team in preparing for audits and customer visits; review customer codes of practice; conduct supplier risk assessments; be responsible for the traceability system; manage the risk assessment process for raw materials, allergens, and suppliers ensuring comprehensive assessments are in place; and be responsible for the HACCP Plan and Food Defence Plan including TACCP and VACCP.

The successful Technical Systems Manager will have a minimum of a HND or degree in a food related subject, and level 4 HACCP and Food Safety; minimum of 5 years' experience in a technical systems or services role, ideally from within a food / FMCG environment; experience of managing quality systems, food defence practices and TACCP and VACCP processes, dealing with retailer Technical Managers and web based systems, good decision making, problem solving, people & interpersonal skills, focused on achieving results, able to work under pressure, and ideally experience of high risk chilled products.
