Support Workers - Nottingham

Barker Ross Health & Social care are looking for experienced individuals to join our team in the Nottingham

We are eager to hear from dedicated and passionate Support Workers who want to make a difference.

Candidates are required to have a strong back ground in learning disabilities, autism or mental health, for an exciting and innovative opportunity to support a young male client who has complex needs. Our aim is to increase the quality of life for our client, through the use of positive behavioural support.

To achieve this, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team, which will include professionals from the fields of psychology, psychiatry, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy and nursing, all working alongside a dedicated management team.

Role Requirements:

A minimum of 6-12 months recent experience of supporting client with complex learning disabilities/mental health/autism

Experience of dealing with challenging behaviour, including training and use of Team Teach, MAPA or similar

Strong teamwork ethic and the ability to work collaboratively to achieve results

The ability to remain calm under pressure and demonstrate resilience

Strong communication skills and a positive, pro-active and person-centred approach

Experience of/willingness to support with personal care

We support our clients 24 hours a day 7 days a week, so you will need to be prepared to undertake shift patterns within those hours, on a flexible basis.
