Support Worker - Adults with Learning Disabilities

Job Description

We are recruiting for our client who runs a service for adults with learning disabilities within proximity of the Wirral Peninsula.

Offering a range of shifts across Monday to Sunday, this role will be challenging but very rewarding. You will be working directly with service users whose needs will be unique to them and who may display challenging behaviour. You will be able to demonstrate a commitment to caring and offering direct support to service users. You will be motivated and a team player - taking part in support service users in leisure and day to day activities - either in the community or within the home.

In order to apply for this role, you must be able to demonstrate the level of competency required in order to undertake the tasks required on shift to a high standard with minimum supervision and support. (Our client will provide an induction relevant to the shift).

Ideally, you will be able to provide authentic certificated evidence of health and social care mandatory training - for example, moving and handling, medication, safeguarding etc. You may hold a Care Certificate. Barker Ross Health & Social Care can also provide modular, bespoke training if required which can be discussed at registration interview. We would love to hear from applicants with MAPA training (or other equivalent control and restraint techniques training).

Barker Ross Health & Social Care is part of the Barker Ross Group - established since 1988. We are firmly entrenched in providing a quality service to all our temporary workers and all our valued clients. We offer a truly bespoke service to each and every candidate and make it our business to find you the work you want, when and if you want it.

Do you currently work for an agency where you often feel like you simply have to take the work on offer?

Are you able to undertake training which is relevant to you and your development?

Have you ever been made to pay for a DBS and then never received any work? Or been promised that the DBS cost will be re-imbursed only for this never to happen?

At Barker Ross, we will work closely with you and we will always deliver on our promises. We have strong values at Barker Ross which are focused on providing our expertise to match you to the right roles and we do so with you in mind.
