Supply Chain Supervisor (Warwickshire)

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a high calibre Supply Chain Supervisor to join a leading supplier of railway infrastructure services in the Warwickshire area on a full time permanent basis.

The role supports the Materials & Procurement Manager in the selection, development and management of the supplier base for the fleet of rail grinding machines which the company maintain and operate on behalf of Network Rail.

The role is responsible and accountable for the inventory management and supply of materials and services required to support the maintenance and operation of the rail grinding fleet on time and to budget. The post holder will have responsibility for ensuring compliance with business governance, and that all mandatory and company Safety, Quality & Environmental standards are implemented and adhered to.

The successful candidate will supervise a small stores team to ensure that Material quotes & Purchase requisitions are raised in a timely manner and ensure that deliveries are inspected upon receipt and processed correctly.

You will maximise availability of material whilst minimising stock levels & aligned with stock holding levels and maintain high levels of accuracy through stocktakes. You will pick and process material requisitions and plan transport and distribution requirements for rail grinding machine shipments in a timely manner.

Within the role you will reduce waste involved in picking times by optimising procedures and stores layout and manpower utilisation across shifts and also aid development of, and train staff in, critical activity plans for key activities.

You will ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and 14001 Quality and Environmental procedures and work closely with finance to ensure budget targets are met.

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Previous Stores/warehouse procedures knowledge & experience is essential.
  • Stock control experience is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Materials Management and Stores qualifications are desirable.
  • Experience in the use material management functions on the business system is essential.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of quality systems and management.
  • Possess a clean road vehicle driving license.
  • Fork Lift Truck and Pallet truck experience is essential.

Salary is up to £35k plus excellent benefits.
