Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a high calibre, Site Manager with automotive experience to join a world-class transport and logistics organisation on a full time, permanent basis in Luton. This is a unique chance for a skilled individual to really drive the business forward, and would suit someone with gravitas to manage the site and customer expectations, who is perhaps used to a start up business and employs continuous improvement as a consistent tool for ensuring efficiencies are maximised.

The opportunity would suit a commercially astute, logistics professional with experience of the automotive logistics sector who comes from a 1st tier manufacturing or OEM background who is looking for an opportunity to really drive a business forward. As an effective man-manager, you will have a genuine passion for people, fully engaging with your teams and customer base and the management of such relationships. Whilst a solid operational background will be required, it is essential that you also have a real commercial and customer service focus not only from ensuring key budgetary targets are achieved profitably, but also from delivering on and exceeding customer expectations. Your natural energy, positivity and drive will promote a continuous improvement mentality throughout your teams, encouraging them to go the extra mile and to take pride in what they do, and what they are part of.

Your communication skills will be second to none, and you will have the gravitas to manage your customers in a professional manner and with a can-do attitude in what is a very demanding, fast paced environment where expectations are high. Your management style will be one of an open-door policy promoting an open and honest culture within your teams whilst taking a common sense approach to dealing with problems. You will appreciate the importance of being visible by your colleagues and certainly have demonstrable leadership credentials. Experience within a unionised environment will be an advantage.
