Job Description

SHE Manager (£50,000 to £55,000 a year dependant on experience) based in Derby


You will have the opportunity to work for a large social housing organisation giving you an ideal opportunity to enhance your career and CV

Job Role

You will bring new techniques for improving SHE to the attention of the Director responsible for health and safety.

You will be responsible for delivering the organisations strategic goals for SHE through the development and application of specific SHE programmes.

You will promote the organisations vision and values to internal and external stakeholders (residents, supply chain) in particular for Safety, Health and Environment.

You will have drive to deliver continuous improvement in SHE delivery across the business.

You will work collaboratively with the organisations H&S team to achieve consistent Group wide outputs.

You will ensure environmental procedures, reporting and required environmental statements are developed and maintained.

You will Develop subject matter material for dissemination via Tool box talks etc.

Develop and promote SHE innovation and learning; cascade through the wider organisations business.


You will be educated to degree level (or working towards) in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.

You will have Chartered SHE professional or equivalent (demonstrable IPD/CPD equivalent)

You will have detailed understanding of SHE legislation.

You will have working knowledge of ISO 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001 Standards Extensive experience in similar or supporting post-Leading SHE function in a large organisation.

You will have other supporting business and/or engineering qualifications.

You must have a Positive mental attitude-"can do attitude".

You must be an excellent oral and written communicator able to interpret data/reports etc.

You will have an ability to lead and/or work as part of a team.

You will have an ability to positively influence others.

You will be able to work in a pressurised situation.

You must be reliable, conscientious and honest.

You will have a sound understanding of the maintenance requirements of large scale Social Landlord organisations

You must have experience of establishing good relationships with internal and external customers and staff - and motivating employees/building team spirit Previous experience of managing change (particularly important as the business model embeds)
