Senior Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

Our client is a Leading International Cost & Project Management Consultancy who is currently recruiting for a Project / Senior Cost Manager to join their team based from their offices in Tunbridge Wells.

They work across several sectors, predominantly being Residential, Commercial, Education, Hospitality, Government, Local Authority and Foreign Office with the majority of projects being based in London and the South East, with further UK wide coverage and some overseas.

Projects in the Tunbridge Wells office range in value from £1m to £80m, with an enviable client base and a strong pipeline of work - majority of that being repeat business.

The role will require the day to day cost management of projects and the candidate is expected to be experienced in running their own projects, with support from directors and other staff.

Duties will include:

  • Pre-Contract
  • Cost planning and cost management
  • Procurement and tendering
  • Negotiating and placing contracts (JCT / NEC)
  • Attending pre-construction meetings, design workshops

Post-Contract

  • Carrying out valuations and completing final accounts
  • Managing post contract valuations and change management procedures
  • General cost management and reporting, preparing cash flows, periodic cost reports
  • Attending project meetings
  • Support data capture and cost analysis / benchmarking

Our client is looking for a forward thinking, pro-active Cost Management professional who ideally has a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience.

Experience in Employers Agent / Contract Administrator duties and bank monitoring would be advantageous.

Successful candidates should be Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management and be MRICS or close to obtaining MRICS status.
