Job Description

We require care workers with experience of working with the elderly. Set at a recently refurbished home in Southampton with its quiet library, shared lounges and landscaped grounds, a welcome sense of community is fostered here.

With a variety of shifts available and an excellent benefits package you will join a care setting to perform the following duties;

PURPOSE OF POSITION

As a member of the Senior Team to support the team by taking temporary complete charge during the absence of the other seniors.

To lead care and ancillary staff in all aspects of their work in the Home.

To form and maintain open and constructive relationships with all who have either an interest, or statutory duty, to ensure good practice and so enhance the quality of life for the residents. These will include residents, relatives/carers, staff (local, Regional and Head Office, volunteers, Chaplain together with statutory service professionals).

To help maintain in the Home the atmosphere and practice of care based on the Values of Methodist Homes deriving from a concern for the individual and mutual respect between residents and staff.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Help to ensure that all care and ancillary staff have the opportunity to reach the standard required to contribute to the safe and efficient running of the Home.

Assist residents with their personal care needs and help to provide health supervision, and attention through direct care when needed.

Respect residents' rights to privacy, dignity and choice.

Support the Home Manager in the duties of 'Responsible Officer' for the Home under all statutory requirements, legislation and in-house practice. This will include maintaining relevant records, logs and other documents as necessary and the issue and control of medications for which the Home has taken responsibility.
