My client is a well established business which supports the automotive industries, supplying pressed component parts and assemblies, specialising in large progression tooling. They also supply welded assemblies including manual and robotic MIG, CO2, Spot and TIG, plus nutting and inserting and a range of fasteners.
They alsomanufacture and supply aluminium and zinc diecastings to a wide range of customers including automotive, electrical, office furniture and audio. They offer an integrated component solution incorporating cast process selection, CNC machining, design and product finishing.
They are accredited to the automotive quality standard TS 16949 and the environmental standard ISO14001.
RESPONSIBLE FOR: Quality Systems and Customers Requirements and Concerns
LIASES WITH: Chairman, Plant Director, Purchasing Manager, Production Manager, Business Development Manager, Engineering Manager, all Department Heads, Customers, Potential Customers, Toolmakers and Suppliers.
To assist the Quality Manager in achieving and maintaining all relevant quality standards required for the Company to maintain customer satisfaction and win new business.
- Assist in managing the Quality Department in the absence of the Quality Manager.
- Liaise with both customers and suppliers to ensure both internal and external requirements are achieved.
- Control customer complaints, ensuring timely response and actions and closing out of 8D's.
- Undertake measurement of Company performance and customer feedback, providing the relevant corrective action plans.
- Assist the Company Management to ensure that the procedures and working practices comply with the ISO/TS16949 requirements.
- Undertake both internal and external audits.
- Prepare Control Charts and Concerns
- Prepare Procedures and Work Instructions.
- Undertake, where relevant, first-off inspections.
- Liaise with other departments to resolve quality issues and undertake quality awareness training.
- Any other task as requested by Quality Manager.
Health and Safety
The jobholder must familiarise themselves with the Health and Safety requirements, the applicable risk assessments, safe working practices and machine guarding
If any hazard is encountered in the place of work it is the individuals responsibility to notify his manager/supervisor or Health and Safety representative the names of whom are to be found in the letter of appointment.
The jobholder is responsible for his/her own safety and the safety of others in the workplace. Personal Protective Equipment is freely available upon request and it is the duty of the jobholder to wear PPE as determined by the company in the designated areas.
If the jobholder has any doubts about the safety of any task it is the jobholders responsibility to STOP the work and agree a safe working practice with his/her manager.
The company's Quality Policy Statement is to be supported and promoted by the jobholder.
The jobholder must be fully aware and conversant with the Quality Systems and Procedures in the company and shall not deviate from them without a written concession from the Quality or Production Manager. He also has the responsibility and authority to stop production if quality standards are not maintained and implement corrective actions
The jobholder may be required to be assist members of the audit team and participate in audits as per the Audit Schedule.
It is expected that the jobholder will make recommendations for the updating of the Quality Procedures where found necessary.
The jobholder is to familiarise themselves with the company's ISO14000 environmental policy and it is their responsibility to ensure it is followed. The jobholder must be familiar with the correct methods of disposal of waste and special waste. Storage of oils and chemicals must comply with the company's standards and all hazardous material must be stored in the appropriate area.
If the jobholder has any doubts about the environmental impact of any task it is the jobholder's responsibility to STOP the work and agree a suitable procedure with his manager.
