Project Worker - Mental Health and Substance Misuse

Job Description

Our client is seeking locum project workers specialising in complex needs specifically mental health, substance misuse or dual diagnosis - the services ideally require staff to cover evening and night shifts. Ideally someone with experience of supporting clients in crisis.

Position Available: Project Worker - Mental Health and Substance Misuse (Watford), £11 p/h, full time and part time and ongoing work available including night work.


  • Carrying out 1-1 support
  • Managing a caseload of clients with medium to high support needs and challenging behaviour
  • Supporting clients with abstaining and managing their substance usage.
  • Providing practical and emotional support to your client groups, including advocacy and support around welfare, housing and legal entitlements
  • Work proactively with external agencies that are providing support to clients

Experience required:

  • MUST HAVE experience of supporting clients in crisis are experiencing mental health, substance misuse, homelessness and other complex needs.
  • MUST HAVE experience of key working, 1-1 support or managing a caseload of clients.
  • Experience of working within a crisis / drop in centre, hostel or supported living environment
  • Confident supporting clients with challenging behaviour
  • Knowledge of safeguarding of vulnerable adults
  • Available full time and be flexible with regards to shift work
  • MUST have a current registered DBS
  • Right to work in the UK
