A great opportunity has arisen for a high calibre, hands-on Production Manager to join a leading logistics business with specialisms in 3PL, contract packing and Supply Chain Management. The role is offered on a full time, permanent basis in the Northamptonshire area working days, Mon to Fri.
You will be responsible for the smooth running of production lines and a team of warehouse and rework operatives as well as the quality of output ensuring an efficient and productive manufacturing process is in place and maintained that meets customer requirements. It is essential that you have a track record of success within hands-on Production Management and are a skilled man-manager with exceptional leadership qualities. You will direct your team and gain their commitment and confidence very quickly in working towards production targets and related goals.
Further duties will include managing issues that affect quality and delivery of product, the organisation of work flow and resource planning and the implementation of a robust scheduling and inventory control system. H&S and compliance will also come under your remit. Equally important is your ability to service customers to an exceptionally high standard, keeping the lines of communication open with a variety of well respected, major high street FMCG businesses.
To be successful you will have a solid grasp of time and motion, understand quality standards and H&S regulations, have an ability to report on key production metrics, demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent organisational and leadership skills with a results driven approach. Exposure to Manhatten WMS will be an advantage. It will suit an individual that comes from a hand-packing environment (it will NOT suit someone who is used to an automated environment). Preference will be given to candidates with point of sale or contract packaging experience.
Your people management skills can not be underestimated; you will have an ability to bring out the best in each member of your team, identify talent for future succession planning and manage all training and appraisals.
