Production Manager (Grimsby)

Job Description

We are recruiting for one of the UK's leading specialist distribution and food companies.

This role is for a Production Manager on a full time permanent basis, with the role to be based at their site in Grimsby.

As Production Manager you will be responsible for leading the operations team, to achieve the profit and performance targets set by the General Manager. You will drive continuous improvements to maximise operational effectiveness and efficiencies through the development of people, process and systems. You will also facilitate the improvement strategies for KPI's to enhance the company whilst promoting the vision and values of the company.

Essential requirements include a minimum of 3 years experience in management, FMCG experience, being a proficient user of Microsoft Office (Excel), possess good presentation skills and being KPI driven.

Our client is looking for a strong all-rounder who is a passionate, enthusiastic person who has a genuine can-do attitude and someone who is not afraid to roll their sleeves up and get their hands dirty.

Your background will be able to demonstrate Lean methodology. You will possess an IOSH (minimum) or NEBOSH (desirable) and you will be a strong people manager who can motivate and enthuse staff. As an individual you will have experience in managing projects, have a keen eye for detail and be flexible in your approach to work.

You will be responsible for 20 staff and 2 Team Leaders. This role encompasses processing, dispatching, goods-in, frozen packaging and stock management. The site also has 8-12 agency staff which ramps up at peak periods.

Salary for this opportunity is £38k, working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday. Some flexibility is required at the needs of the business.
