Performance Team Leader (Maidstone, Kent)

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Performance Team Leader join a leading global 3PL business at their site in Maidstone.

Reporting into a Regional Distribution Centre Operations Manager you will work alongside another Performance Team Leader managing up to 10 Warehouse Operatives and up to 8 Drivers.

The site services the South East of England and London, delivering an average of 20,000 items per month to circa 1,400 engineers, craftsmen and contractors. The vehicle fleet is responsible for delivering a wide range of items from consumables through to transformers and ring main units.

You will ensure physical delivery to plan within a Logistics Team striving to continuously add customer value whilst constantly reducing cost. You will manage and operate systems that underpin the operation, through the provision of a safe, efficient and effective operation, delivering true value through a commitment to a 99% OTIF defined service level at the lowest possible cost. You will also carry out system housekeeping within SAP Warehouse Management and Inventory Management for the Maidstone Distribution Centre.

Skills required:

  • You must have strong working experience of SAP WMS.
  • Strong man management skills.
  • Experience of LEAN / Six Sigma continuous improvement.
  • Experience of managing in both warehouse and transport operations is desirable as the successful candidate would need to be involved in both and ideally with previous experience in industrial/utilities customers and materials.

Working hours are normally Monday to Thursday 7am to 4pm and Friday 7am to 3pm, with some flexibility required at the needs of the business.

The salary for this opportunity is £42k-£48k, which will be pro-rata'd based on the length of the contract (hourly rate is £21.53-£27).

This role is for an initial 6 months minimum with a possibility of being made permanent.
