Operational Support Operative

Job Description

A well respected integrated logistics business that operates across road, sea and air on a global basis has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Operational Support Operative to join their growing team in the Daventry area on a full time, permanent position.

The position would suit an individual who is experienced in warehouse and operations, which is competent with computers including Microsoft office. This is a hand's on role as it will require some light warehouse duties when required to help with the sortation, fashion, floor checks, security checks and weekends. You must possess excellent analytical skills and attention to detail as accuracy is very important. A FLT or reach truck licence would be advantageous but not essential. Dealing with drivers would also be an advantage as this will be a key part to the role.

This is very much a stand alone position and it will be your responsibility to work with the team of drivers to ensure maximum efficiencies are achieved through effective route planning on multi-drop deliveries. You must possess sound geographical knowledge and have excellent interpersonal communicational skills to be able to communicate at all levels. The role will at times be challenging, demanding and highly pressured, but it will also provide variety and autonomy.

You will need to demonstrate common sense, retain a professional, diplomatic approach (with a sense of humour), be able to pick things up quickly, think on your feet and be strong minded with a strength of character whilst retaining a positive attitude at all times. You must be computer literate and must possess a proactive, pragmatic and organised approach to your planning duties.

You will work Monday to Friday 5pm to 2am (Nights). During the peak season from May to October there is a rota in place for staff to cover weekend shifts.

Salary for this opportunity is £24k,

20days holiday Inc. Bank Holidays (Although on occasion and sometimes short notice you may be required to work)
