Materials Day Support

Job Description

Materials Day Support

Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm

The job will involve:

  • To support the operations team and assist with the smooth running of the materials department in line with the Company procedures and legislative requirements
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure the smooth running of the materials department
  • Organise daily tasks in order to optimise the time and manpower available in line with the Operations Shift Managers
  • Prepare and complete all paperwork accurately and timely manner
  • Provide cover for Mezzanine Floor Ops by carrying out picks and locating stock using the Unity system
  • Prioritise tasks in accordance with business requirements, including planning ahead
  • Support the materials department team members with the necessary supervision ensuring tasks are completed within the required time period
  • Ensure all machinery and equipment is maintained and used in a safe manner at all times
  • Ensure housekeeping is of sufficient high standards in compliance with safety requirements and external audit standards
  • Ensure corrective actions identified are implemented with the assistance of the Planning & Materials Manager
  • Ensure all PPE is used correctly
  • Support Shift Managers when requested in completing; holiday request, Absence Contact Forms and Return to Work Forms
  • Support Planning and Materials Manager and Shift Managers by organising appropriate agency workers as required
  • Ensure all materials team members undertake and complete all materials records accurately
  • Undertake stock takes in line with the business needs
  • Provide training to members of the team on aspects of the role or training on specific procedures

The successful candidate should possess the following experience and qualifications:

Essential:

  • Competent IT skills using Word, Excel, Outlook, Unity
  • Driving experience on a FLT, PPT and using Grab Truck attachment
  • Experience of FMCG warehouse environment
  • Flexible attitude with regards to normal hours of work, shift pattern and overtime
  • First line management skills
  • Experience of a FMCG role within a Goods In and Out department

Desirable:

  • IOSH
