Maintenance Engineer - Hertfordshire
Purpose of Role
Work as part of a small on site maintenance team undertaking a wide range of general repairs, planned and reactive maintenance within the student residential accommodation: and sports village on the campus at the University of Hertfordshire. These tasks include but are not confined to:
Minor redecoration works
Building fabric repairs
Minor electrical work
Minor plumbing work
Moving furniture and equipment
Changing filters on air conditioning systems
Supervising contractors to ensure they are following safe systems of work
Completing all regular safety checks
Completing all preventative planned maintenance checks::
-Weekly fire alarm testing
-Water Temperature testing
-Shower head descaling
-Flushing of little used outlets
-Fire door checks
-Emergency light testing
-Fire extinguisher & Fire Blank checks
-Communal lighting checks
Undertaking building audits
Electrical, Plumbing or decorating skills.
Good Health & Safety Knowledge.
Resourceful and self motivated.
Able to work as part of a team.
Good communication skills.
Strong organisational skills.
Experience of working in a similar role within the sector.
Good attention to detail.
Physically strong - capable of working with machinery or moving heavy equipment.
