Job Description

Maintenance assistant x 2 - £19,000 per annum - 40 hours per week - Facilities management - Education - Great opportunity - Permanent contract - Gloucestershire.


You will have a fantastic opportunity to work for a large scale Facilities Management organisation operating nationwide. You will have the opportunity to grow your career as a maintenance assistant for a well known and established organisation.

Job Role

You will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance such as basic maintenance, decorating joinery and plastering.

You will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance operations in an educational accomodation setting - and therefore will be required to undergo a criminal record check on appointment.

You will assiti in M&E operations and therefore a background in a trade that is related would be advantageous but not essential - it is essential that you have a multiskilled background for basic maintenance duties.

You will be responsible for tasks such as ensuring grounds are accessible and sightly, litter picking, gritting and general tasks of this sort in addition to assisting the specialist engineers and contractors on site.

Hours of work will vary on a shift basis and flexibility will be required - the organisation operate a "time off in leiu" policy and extra hours will lead to extra time off.


You will be capable of basic maintenance duties and have a knowledge of the following to enable assistance:

  • Mechanical and electrical maintenance
  • Fire detection and control systems
  • Equipment maintenance
  • Water treatment
  • HV maintenance

You will be a commited individual and be capable to deliver a top quality service to the organisation and to the customers of the organisation.

You will be self motivated and capable of prioritising work accordingly. You will be flexible.

You must be willing to undergo a DBS check
