A specialist within freight forwarding has an exciting opportunity for a Freight Business Development Manager in either the Birmingham or Warrington areas on a full time, permanent basis.
The business has seen a dramatic growth and expansion over the past 4 years and now operates its own scheduled core road services with sales forecast for circa £4.5m for 2016/17.
You will targeted to generate annual new sales from International Freight Forwarding. You will have experience of internal or external sales in core road-freight markets, which is essential, whilst having some operations experience would be seen as an advantage.
You will deliver profitable new business in line with organisational strategic goals, identifying business opportunities, building key customer relationships, negotiating and closing business deals and maintaining extensive knowledge of market conditions.
You will apply business acumen to filter unsuitable business and qualify best leads from the pipeline and also define project approach, developing tailored proposals that speak to the client's needs, concerns, and objectives.
You will possess strong sales and persuasion skills with ability to influence to a senior management level and also be an entrepreneurial thinker with a strong drive to succeed. You will have a high degree of business acumen with ability to interrogate commercial propositions.
You will be a strong team player, a strong networker and a relationship builder who has excellent communication skills and a track record of success in the production of external tender responses. Excellent organisation skills are essential and you will be IT literate.
Flexibility will be required as the role will involve UK and occasional overseas travel.
Salary for this opportunity is £26k-£33k (negotiable) and the package includes an uncapped bonus & commission scheme, company car, laptop, pension and 28 days holiday.
