Fleet Manager

Job Description

One of the leading specialists in commercial vehicle rental has a fantastic opportunity for a competent and professional Fleet Manager to join their team in the Leicestershire region. This is a key appointment for the business as you will assume fleet management responsibility for in excess of 1,000 vehicles.

Ultimately you will ensure that the vehicle fleet is managed and maintained in such a manner as to support operations in the most efficient way possible. You will be given autonomy to manage this. Your duties will focus around maintaining service level agreements and taking preventative measures to keep the fleet in the best possible order whilst ensuring compliance with all current legislation and best practice. You will fully support customers, drive operational processes for excellence, and actively support and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

It is essential that you have a thorough understanding of commercial fleet management, possess strong management skills (as you will be responsible for a team of around 12 Administrators), have sound analytical skills and be capable of both rationalising and developing the supply chain.

Other duties will include the production of detailed and timely reports on all aspects of the operation (demonstrating complete understanding of the fleet, performance, application and identification of opportunity for delivering better value to the group), the production and management of KPI's, the analysis and overall management of financials which you will report back to the senior executive team.

As an individual you will constantly be looking at ways of driving best practice with a key focus on continuous improvement (commercial, operational, service levels), and have a confident, yet professional approach. Of course excellent communication and rapport building skills and a pro-active personable approach to tasks will be highly valued.
