External Operations Team Leader (Lichfield)

Job Description

A great opportunity has arisen for a high calibre, hands-on External Operations Team Leader to join a leading independent provider of commercial vehicle rental and fleet maintenance in the Lichfield area on a full time permanent basis.

The successful candidate will have day to day responsibility for the supervision of a team c10 people, who manage the nationwide maintenance through 3rd party workshops on HGV trailers.

In the role you will ensure servicing, inspections and defects of trailers via the use of Suppliers in the most cost effective manner and monitor customer repairs whilst ensuring that they are carried out in a timely manner whilst meeting the required legislative and customer standards.

You will ensure that all Health and Safety requirements are fully complied with to company, legal and customer standards. You will ensure all breakdown assistance and defect rectification is provided 24 hours a day and engages with the relevant emergency assistance organisation for efficient breakdown resolution.

You will be customer focused, demonstrating a customer-oriented approach with a desire to always meet or exceed customer expectations through exceptional service delivery. Our reputable client requires a candidate who works well under pressure, being able to think on your feet in a dynamic and fast moving environment.

As part of this role you be required to be an out of hours contact via mobile communication.

Mechanical HGV/LCV experience and qualifications is required.

You will require a minimum of 2 years' practical and leadership experience within the commercial vehicle sector at a supervisory level.

The salary for this opportunity is up to £36k with a benefits package including a 5% bonus and up to 6% pension contribution.

You will work Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm, and may be require to work an occasional Saturday morning 8am to 1pm.
