Electrical Section Engineer - Wednesbury

Job Description

I am currently recruiting for a fantastic opportunity to join a global business with a fantatsic reputation, my client is keen to recruit a Electrical Section Engineer.

Principal Accountabilities

You will be responsible for leading, motivating, monitoring and overseeing electrical activities, whilst taking responsibility for the safe, effective and efficient maintenance of all plant and equipment. You will report in to the Department Engineer and provide technical support and guidance on various electrical systems, drives and PLCs. You will formulate, review and revise maintenance schedules, ensuring compliance to maintenance plans and delivery of equipment availability improvements.

The successful post-holder will set the benchmark for engineering standards on site, leading and developing engineering performance and improvements. You will liaise closely with the manufacturing team and wider engineering team to prioritise, direct and control activities where necessary, to ensure plant and equipment remains operations, whilst ensuring high levels of health and safety quality compliance.

Implementing and driving a continual improvement plan in efficiency of equipment and maintenance activities is essential. You will identify and recommend innovative solutions to engineering problems and provide solutions to problems arising from equipment failures.

You will strengthen the standards of engineering applied in the plant by monitoring the performance of the engineering teams and supervising manpower resources as required.

You will provide engineering support to the plant in the design, submission, installation and commissioning of capital, major maintenance, stop period and revenue projects.
The jobholder must be highly motivated, a good communicator with high level of team skills and be capable of delivering the full range of the company business needs and requirements framework tool set.

Key Accountabilities/ Responsibilities

Formulate maintenance engineering activities in conjunction with the manufacturing team to deliver requirements of HS&E . Ensure work is carried out in a safe manner and comply with all the relevant health and safety legislation. Direct isolation / immobilisation of equipment and issue of necessary permits. Leads Risk Assessments.
Directs and manages the assigned teams
Sets up and upholds agreed standards for all activities & equipment within their assigned area.
Maintain records on electrical jobs and assign to appropriate personnel.
Carry out proactive and reactive duties.
Contribute to the overall performance of the department.
Provides maintenance strategy and technical expertise for site both during and outside normal hours as demanded by Safety and Manufacturing requirements.
Ensures equipment is maintained in a safe reliable condition by the use of appropriate methods.
Organises and directs outage activity for the assigned area.
Formulates and agrees spares stock holding.
Formulates and agrees KPI for the assigned equipment.
Directs and delivers equipment and maintenance method improvements.
Delivers and drives efficient maintenance in a safe manner at the optimum cost
Leads and develops electrical personnel behaviours and competency.
Drives and delivers productivity improvements with direct reports.
Monitors equipment performance in line in line with defined QA requirements.
Populates and retains information within the plant integrity database.
Delivers maintenance performance to ensure product quality and asset integrity are maintained.

* The jobholder will be educated to a minimum of ONC or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline or be an experienced time served craftsmen with relevant qualifications, with a proven track record including supervision and management of engineering teams and equipment
* Possess 18th Edition IEE Regulations Certification.
