Electrical Maintenance Engineer / Electrician

I am recruiting for a leading manufacturer within the North Yorkshire area, my client is looking for a candidate from a strong manufacturing and production background.

Key Objectives:

  • Read and interpret circuit/ladder diagrams
  • Fault find and repair a range of manufacturing equipment using various sources of information to locate the cause of breakdowns in an objective manner
  • Complete the installation of new plant and machinery
  • Observe and enforce all health and safety practices within the plant
  • Accurately report and record machine data
  • Accurately complete and update all maintenance records
  • Ensure planned maintenance is completed in timely fashion
  • Work with and install single phase/3 phase electrical circuits
  • Complete electrical work on pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Communicate and liaise with colleagues on engineering and electrical issues, problems and projects
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks and work without continuous supervision
  • Challenge constructively existing ideas and practices
  • Continuously look for improvements to the service and good practice within their role.
  • Work with production shift manager's and machine operators to identify faults, failures and prioritise



Qualifications and Skills

  • Manufacturing background and experience
  • City & Guilds, BTEC or NVQ qualifications or completed a time served electrical apprenticeship.
  • Pneumatics experience
  • Hydraulics experience
  • Pc literate (MS office)
  • PLC's (Siemens) (S5/S7) As-I, Lenze servos, inverters, soft starts
  • IEE 17th Edition regulations
  • Ability to use MEWP would be an advantage but not essential

Working conditions

Three shift working in a factory environment. Must be prepared to work shifts - regular overtime - and attend call outs which are paid at a premium.
