Distribution Manager (parcels) (Berkshire, Hampshire)

Job Description

We are recruiting for a specialist parcel distribution company, which offers market-leading expertise in a range of industries.

This role is for a Distribution Manager a full time permanent basis, with the position to be based at one of their sites in either Middlesex, Berkshire or Hampshire.

You will be responsible for ensuring the consistent application and execution of standard operating practices to provide industry leading service and efficient processes in depot whilst ensuring that all legal, health and safety, security, transport and Company policy requirements are strictly adhered to.

You will take responsibility for the management of fleet planning, maintenance and compliance as well as championing all professional practices and behaviours and ensures all staff are trained effectively.

The successful candidate will coach and mentor team members and supports the creation of a coaching culture whilst organising and controlling the depot's resources to ensure maximum efficiency of the depot through effective management of people, assets, costs and productivity.

As an individual you will pro-actively building and maintaining a full up to date understanding of the business' services and products.

You will have a track record of success in a logistics environment typically gained through 4 or more years' experience in a management position. You'll also be able to evidence:

  • Legal Requirements - Ideally must have a Transport Manager CPC qualification (my client may consider non-CPC holders)
  • Stakeholder Management- People management and leadership experience including previous success with managing teams and driving results.
  • FMCG Environment - Able to work at pace whilst maintaining an accurate, high quality output.
  • Experience and proven credentials- Management experience within a warehouse / commercial / parcel freight environment.
  • People and Customer Orientation - Be people and customer centric focused and be passionate about people and service development.

Salary for this opportunity is £45k, working Monday to Friday, with some flexibility requirements at the needs of the business. The package could also includes a company car or allowance, pension and bonus.
