A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Manager with freight logistics experience (with a particular focus on Air & Ocean) to join a highly professional, well established and rapidly expanding freight solutions provider. You will join a hard working and dynamic team at one of their sites (Manchester / Middlesex regions) although flexibility will be required to cover the North & South regions (as well as international travel when required)
Reporting directly into the General Manager, this is a key, strategic appointment for the business, as you will join the senior management team in developing a coherent sales strategy and structure for the UK.
It is essential that you have experience within a freight forwarding environment with a particular emphasis on Air & Ocean development. This is a great platform from which to develop your professional sales career within an exciting industry and in a business that has experienced continued year on year growth. Of equal importance will be your ability to build, maintain and motivate a high performing sales team as your responsibilities will extend to defining areas of focus, setting clear goals and targets and managing their performance. There will be close liaison with the network of Branch Managers to support existing customer retention and development as well as support with the on-boarding of significant new business.
Other duties will include monthly reporting of sales activities and development, creating and delivering budgets based on commercial development, streamlining and improving processes, tender management and creating tools to manage SLA's and KPI's for your team.
You will have an entrepreneurial approach to business development, possess excellent communication and organisational skills and of course build natural rapport with all stakeholders and clients with an ability to create and deliver strategic planning in the short, medium and long term.
