An exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced CNC Bridgeport Miller Setter Programmer to join an established and leading Precision Engineer business based in Leicester. Our client manufacture and supply bespoke components to the rail, automotive, medical and instrument manufacture industries. They also supplies research and development facilities and Universities with a manufacturing service and have an ongoing investment in new machinery, people and systems. Their services range from helping with engineering design and prototyping, to the production of highly complex and intricate components from a wide variety of materials. Working to clients drawings their CNC division manufactures items in all metals and plastics in unit to large batch volumes machining high complex, tight tolerance components. Their multi-axis machining centres provide machining for all metal material types including aluminium, stainless steel, super duplex alloys as well as mild steel and cast iron.
The successful candidate be responsible to:-
Effectively interpret engineering drawings
Programme, set and operate Bridgeport CNC milling machines
Produce a quality end-product within set quality, tolerances and productivity time scales
Read and interpret engineering drawings to enable programming, setting and manufacture to achieve a right first time product
· Strong problem solving skills with good practical application
· Have a minimum of 6 years precision engineering experience
· Large batch experience
· Highly motivated to improving productivity without compromise on quality
· Maintain a high standard of housekeeping
· Good communication, operational and organisational skills
· Well presented with a positive, proactive and professional approach
· Possess a flexible approach to work
Individuals will be working within a small team but need to be able to work on their own initiative with minimal supervision and also provide support to other members of the Machine Shop. As well as an extensive machining background suitable candidates will have a comprehensive understanding of 3 and 4 axis machining, and a good knowledge of materials and machining techniques.
Hours of work:
07:30 - 16:30 Monday - Thursday
07:30 - 13:00 Friday
Optional overtime available
Salary £22K - £29K dependant on experience
