Support Workers for Children's Residential Homes
Location: Leicester [LE12]
To actively promote the rights of young people as individuals and provide them with quality care in accordance with the policies and procedures of Barker Ross Health & Social Care.
To assist in the provision of a safe and homely environment both individually and as part of a team to help young people achieve their potential by strengthening areas of weakness and developing areas of strength.
We offer a competitive salary of £8.50 - £10.00 depending on experience level.
Supporting children with EBD aged 8 -18 in full-time residential care
Participating and promoting key working sessions with children and young people
Taking full part in the duty rota, including weekdays, weekends and night shifts
Working as a Key Worker to a child or children and to work to an agreed care plan
Setting boundaries for children and young people that may display challenging or emotional behaviour, whilst developing a relationship built on mutual trust
To use behaviour management strategies effectively and in line with the home's policy and procedures, which contribute to a purposeful environment
Encourage development of individual interests and attitudes
To promote, safeguard and protect the welfare of each young person
Establish and maintain positive and trusting relationships with the young people that will promote their sense of security
Promote the development of a healthy lifestyle for Young People
Encourage Young People to develop their full educational and vocational attainment
Experience in working in residential children's home
Awareness of safeguarding young people
Ability to deal with challenging behaviour
High degree of resilience
Good communication skills
Ideally, hold a full UK Driving Licence, but this is not essential
NVQ Level 3 or working towards it. We will also consider experienced staff with NVQ Level 2
