Care Assistant - Ilkeston, Nottingham
Our client is a duel site Nursing And Residential Home based in Ilkeston, Derbyshire.
As a care assistant, based at this Ilkeston site you will help and support the residents of the home and improve their quality of life
On a day to Day basis as a care assistant at this Ilkeston site you will be required to:
Providing high quality care to service users and residents in the home, identifying needs and preferences for each individual and providing personal care
Assist in the safe lifting, transferring, re positioning and movement of clients
Encourage good community relationships and liaising with other healthcare professionals and supporting other care and support staff
Accurately report, record and maintain records as required on an electronic system
Assist with all aspects of catering and domestic duties as and when required, feeding, bathing, clothing and setting up activities
Report any deficiencies in the service of whatever nature to the service manager or senior staff
Identifying priorities and managing time effectively
Actively listening and showing understanding of others, spending one to one time with service users and building positive relationships
Continually updating own knowledge and actively pursuing own personal development
Demonstrating a positive attitude in all dealings with people and acting as a positive role model
Being prompt, punctual, prepared and maintaining a high standard of personal appearance at all times
Understanding professional boundaries of both clients and co-workers
Being passionate about ensuring that your Customers are receiving care in a dignified and respectful manner
Understanding that working as part of a passionate and committed team is key
Various hours of work available on working rota
Candidates must have at least 6 months experience of working as a Care Assistant within a Residential or Nursing Home environment Ideal candidates will also have a healthcare skills certificate or NVQ and be able to drive.
Candidates will have to :
Commutable via own transport the site
Caring & compassionate within a Social Care environment
Have previous experience in care or support
Excellent organisation
Effective communication skills
The ability to Administer Medication
Flexible, professional and committed to being the best
Quality driven with a desire to continually improve yourself & our services
NVQ in Health and Social Care
