Job Description

We are recruiting for an experienced Buyer to join a leading Leicester manufacturer. The role involves managing a portfolio of products and suppliers to ensure production and customer requirements are met.

Duties include

Manage Purchase Order book to ensure it meets demand including expediting and rescheduling
Develop relationships with suppliers
Action daily MRP messages
Maintain and develop the appropriate Kanban/VMI/ Call-off system to support production
Identify cost reduction potential for plant managed suppliers
Resolve queries regarding product deliveries, working closely with inventory control
Plan, issue, monitor and expedite production orders to ensure orders are manufactured and supplied

Key Skills

Ability to demonstrate customer-orientated thinking
Experience of MRP methods and lean supply
Strong verbal and written communication skills
MS Excel proficient
Flexible and adaptable to change
Ability to interpret data and reports and provide clear analytics


£28,000 to £30,000 per annum depending upon experience
