Your man-management skills and expertise as a strong leader and developer of people will be essential. Team engagement and provision of clear goals and direction will come as second nature to you.
It is an interesting and challenging hands-on role, perhaps best described as a hybrid role, as it requires a varied skill set, from practical shop floor presence to liaison and communication with your customer whereby you will be the point of communication from the client to warehouse activities. Additional responsibilities will include attendance at customer meetings, optimisaton of stock locations/pick face layouts, perpetual inventory checks, volume forecasting, staffing, recruitment, and training. You will require good IT skills (Excel), knowledge of WMS and a counter-balance and VNA licence is desirable, but not essential.
As an individual you will be highly personable, approachable, open-minded and have a positive attitude, as well as show flexibility and a willingness to get stuck in. Great communication skills are essential! You will join a friendly, dynamic team and this will suit someone who thrives in this environment.
The client is really looking for someone with that bit between their teeth who really wants to develop the role as fully as possible, and with a consistent continuous improvement approach to their duties. You need to be a passionate and driven individual where the team is your focus.
