Warehouse Lean Practitioner

Job Description

Opportunities have arisen for an ambitious professionals to implement their logistics, warehousing and distribution experience as Warehouse Lean Practitioner for a blue-chip company on a full-time, permanent basis in Mansfield. This is a truly exciting time to join the company that specialises in Retail and Sports Fashion.

As Warehouse Lean Practitioner, you will work closely with a small team of Lean Practitioners to scope and deliver projects on time and to budget. In the role you will manage lean projects on site - accountable for delivery of mini-projects and partnering with operations on longer term projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sustainable improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost & People (SQDCP). You will also support the roll out of 5S, SQDCP tier boards and team briefings at scale - as well as providing proof of concept in terms of where this has shown value.

In the role will be investigating to provide clarity on root cause, when SQDCP targets are not being met - and creating plans and mini-projects to bridge this. ensuring an efficient warehouse operation which can fulfil customer web and store demand on time and in full.

You will support site Operational Excellence audits, Value Stream Mapping and Diagnostic activities as well as driving the highest standards of safety on site, working with the Safety team to ensure safety and standards are a key part of 5S activity.

Qualifications:

  • Strong background across Improvement, CI, Warehousing, Logistics or Supply Chain.
  • Experience in a Continuous Improvement team with practical and 'hands on' business improvement expertise.
  • Coaching and partnering experience.
  • Exceptional people and change management skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Good problem solving, analytical and systems skills.
  • Data driven (SQDCP) experience with a proven track record in delivering successful and sustainable business improvement.
  • Customer focused approach to operational management.
  • Resilient, flexible and approachable.
  • Multi-cultural experience.
  • Lean expert or similar certification.

Desirable but not essential:

  • Lean Six Sigma qualification.
  • Automation experience.
  • Operations Management experience.
  • Varied experience across both Manufacturing and Retail industries.

Salary is £30k-£35k plus pension and other excellent benefits.
