Transport Planner

Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Transport Planner join a well established and successful FMCG & Automotive 3PL logistics organisation at their site based in North West Leicestershire (LE65). This is an exciting time to join the company as they continue to grow their business and expand their ever growing team.

You will work with CPC Holders to ensure all DVSA 'Operator Licence' legislative requirements are adhered to. You will make arrangements to ensure that drivers' comply with drivers' hours and tachograph rules and with speed limits and be responsible the reporting and recording of vehicle defects by drivers.

Experience of Pallet Networks would provide a significant advantage.

You will work within a small transport team and will be responsible for the planning arrangements to ensure that the vehicle/s are not overloaded, ensuring that authorised vehicles will be kept at the authorised operating centres when not in use and also ensure fleet records for depot are maintained to a high standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for daily checks, defect reporting, servicing (DOE, tail lifts, Tacho calibration, MOT's) and ensure all Health and Safety Legislation is complied with including SSoW, Risk Assessments, Tool Box Talks and LOLER/PUWER/RIDDOR regulations.

You will possess good geographical knowledge and experience of modern office procedure and methods including the use of telephones, fax and other office systems and have moderate PC literacy with the ability to use/learn software packages that is applicable to the job, together with the ability to create Pivot tables and V-Look-Ups in Excel as a minimum.

You will have the ability to prioritise, work independently and make progress on tasks with minimal supervision and have good interpersonal skills, being able to deal with people at all levels.

Salary is £22k with the working hours being Monday to Friday (core hours/days), with a degree of flexibility at the needs of the operation.
