One of the leading logistics providers has an exciting opportunity for a Transport Out Base Manager in the Greenford area of Greater London. This role is a full time permanent opportunity.
The successful person will be responsible for improve profitability of the business through efficient and effective fleet management, integrated traffic planning, high levels of customer service and maintaining the highest standards of performance in Health & Safety.
The successful candidate will ensure future growth of the business by developing additional volumes and activity with both existing and new customers.
You will ensure all company activities comply within the company Health &Safety and Environmental policies, government and EU legislation and general duty of care. You will plan, develop and implement strategy for operational management and development of company fleet activity, subcontract, shunting operations and customer service.
You will monitor, measure and report on operational and development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timescales. The Transport Out Base Manager will manage and motivate operational staff and drivers at all sites and out bases, recruit, train and develop staff and drivers according to company policies and employment laws and ensure relevant HR procedures are followed with reference to recruitment, discipline (up to and including dismissal), grievance, attendance, etc.
You will also liaise with other depart al managers to understand all necessary aspects and needs of operational development, and to ensure they are fully informed of operational objectives, purposes and achievements.
In the role you will establish, manage and monitor standards, processes, communications, training, and systems in relation to Health & Safety performance to ensure proper and timely risk assessments and implementation of measures and safe working procedures identified as necessary from the assessments and manage incident investigation and reporting within agreed formats and timescales both internal and to external parties. You will also plan, develop and implement strategy for driver training, induction and performance and development and maintain appropriate systems for measuring.
In the role you will monitor, measure and report on driver training, induction and performance achievements within agreed formats and timescales.
Skills, Experience & Attributes required:
- Essential - CPC Certificate holder, CILT qualified, knowledge of O-Licence obligations and Working Time Directive (WTD).
Salary for this opportunity is £35k, 25 days plus Bank Holiday's annual leave and other benefits, working Monday to Friday (days).
