Transport Manager (Ashby de la Zouch)

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Transport Manager join a well established and successful 3PL logistics organisation at their site based in Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire. This is an exciting time to join the company as they continue to grow their business and expand their ever growing team.

The successful candidate will be solely accountable for leading the team, running a compliant fleet and securing new business, for both operating centres.

The position is a very hands-on and diverse role; with the successful candidate needing to be comfortable sitting in front of customers, through to getting stuck in with planning, managing Drivers including all HR activities, and driving continuous improvement to drive service value.

You will report into the Site Manager, leading a team of 3 Supervisors, 1 Transport Planner and 18 Drivers across 2 operating centres.

The current fleet size of 20 assets from vans to articulated vehicles, however aspirations of growing this significantly through new business wins.

You will hold the Operator's Licence at the Operating Centre, ensuring complete legislative, company, and customer compliance through consistently and proactively managing all compliance matters of the team of drivers and fleet of vehicles.

Role requirements:

  • CPC National essential.
  • Experience of holding an Operator License.
  • Strong performance management experience.
  • Sound leadership and man-management skills.
  • Committed to supporting personal development within the team.
  • Requirement to be flexible with working hours/days however standard working hours are Monday-Friday office hours.
