Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Transport Manager to join a world-class 3PL and distribution business on a full-time, permanent basis in Northants. This is a truly exciting time to join the company, recognised as one of the top 10 global logistics providers, as they continue to successfully expand their portfolio of clients.

Directly reporting into the General Manager, you will be responsible for leading the transport operations team ensuring that daily operational objectives are achieved and that the team achieves their performance targets. It is very much about identifying areas of continuous improvement, always with a focus on the customer.

It is essential that you possess excellent communication and organisational skills as the role would suit an individual who has an inclusive man-management style - encouraging and supportive, yet firm when required. You will liaise closely with customers, stakeholders and key contacts within the business, as well as managing your team of drivers. You will take responsibility for KPI management, H&S and all personnel related matters with regards to the teams' progress, personal development, training requirements, appraisals and disciplinary.

A 3PL background is essential as is your manager CPC. A flexible approach and passion for the job and the people with whom you work are key qualities. In essence, someone with fire in their belly, who cares about delivering on objectives and bringing the team with them will excel in this role.

In addition, you will possess up to date knowledge of transport regulations as you will be responsible for ensuring the legal compliance of the Core Fleet Transport operation at all times, as well as ensuring the fleet is maintained and serviced in accordance with DVSA and company policies within budget, for which strong commercial acumen is essential.
