Trainee Transport Planner

Job Description

A well respected and established supply chain and distribution business (one of the fastest growing transport companies in the UK) has an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Transport Planner who is looking to develop their career within logistics. You will join an expanding, dynamic business that will develop and support your career aspirations within the industry.

This is a great role for an ambitious individual to join this progressive business which has experienced year on year growth, and with further expansion plans, they have an immediate opportunity for a hard-working Trainee Transport Planner to join their team. Preference will be given to canddiates with some transport office experience, although not essential as full training will be given.

You will assist and support the planning team with daily administration and planning of Rail services, and you will enjoy the buzz of a busy transport environment and enjoy a variety of duties. In addition, you will chase hauliers for updates and ensure that time scales are adhered to, react pro-actively to unforeseen issues that may impact on delivery times ensure they are resolved as effectively as possible with the least impact on the business. You will engage with personnel at all levels of the business, building professional relationships as well as identifying areas for continuous improvement.
