Team Manager - Substance Misuse / Recovery (Lewisham)

Job Description

Our client is a large charity and housing association that support people overcoming drug and alcohol problems. They provide residential, prison, community and specialist services.

Position Available: Team Manager - Lewisham, Permanent, 37.5 hours, £27,800pa including London weighting.

Role Purpose:

Be part of the Lewisham Housing Team which supports 25 Homeless Adults working on their recovery from drug and alcohol use.

Lead on the development and delivery of our therapeutic group work programme, innovating and implementing therapeutic interventions and leading on our Recovery Through Nature Programme.

Lead on service user involvement within the service - supporting residents to comment upon, shape and influence the services.

Provide Support and Supervision to team members.

Take a psychologically informed approach to service delivery, ensuring the service operates in a responsive and dynamic way to the presenting needs of the service users

Ensure the accommodation is maintained to a high standard of repair and provides a safe and welcoming space for those who live and work there

Ensure services are delivered in accordance with contract requirements, organisational policy and regulatory standards

Experience required:

  1. Significant experience working in services with people with support needs including alcohol/substance misuse and mental health
  2. Experience of management and/or team leadership (desirable)
  3. Relevant experience of developing and delivering therapeutic interventions
  4. Knowledge of providing harm minimisation and other appropriate client focussed interventions
  5. Experience of conducting assessments, compiling and reviewing person centred support plans and ability to coach team members to do so
  6. Ability to develop and deliver a dynamic and flexible group work programme
  7. Ability to prioritise and manage own work
  8. Experience of partnership working and multi-agency liaison
  9. Experience of achieving agreed objectives, targets and deadlines
  10. Ability to use initiative and inspire and motivate a team of support workers.
  11. Ability to work flexibly as part of a 7-day rota covering a number of services and participate in out of hours on call provision
