Barker Ross are currently recruiting for aTeam Leader to manage a team of care and support workers in a residential home which specialise in Dementia, Eating disorders, Learning disabilities, Mental health conditions, Personal care, Physical disabilities, Sensory impairments, Caring for adults under 65 yrs, Caring for adults over 65 yrs

To professionally lead the care and support team during any span of duty, ensuring the provision of a safe, effective and efficient care and support service to older people and people with learning difficulties / disabilities is maintained, which respects their rights and choices and meets their individual needs, inline with CQC Regulations and organisational policies and procedures

Essential Requirements

  • Have or be willing to work towards a Level 3 in care
  • Experience of working with older people and/or individuals with a learning difficulty, disability and/or a mental health impairment
  • Experience of supervising / leading individuals in the delivery of effective care and support services
  • Good understanding of person centred care planning processes and have experience of writing care and support plans
  • Good Knowledge of Care Quality Commission requirements and regulations
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Experience of working within a care service provision environment regulated by CQC
  • Experience or the ability to manage the performance of others
  • Genuine passion and enthusiasm for inclusion of groups and individuals
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Levels of resilience and flexibility
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • IT skills (e.g word processing, email, excel)
  • Strong Awareness of Health & safety Issues within care settings
  • Good applied Knowledge of Care Quality Commission Regulations and requirements
  • Ability to respect an individuals rights and dignity at all time
  • Understanding of Personalisation and how to provide personalised service
  • Awareness on Individuals emotional needs
  • Knowledge of support planning and documentation of records
  • Awareness/obtaining information on local and community resources
  • Awareness of personal finances and benefit system

Understanding of staff management e.g. compiling rotas to meet service user's needs

Key Accountabilities

  1. Provide leadership and support for care and support staff and act as a champion for the safety and dignity of the people we support

  3. To maintain skills and knowledge and ensure that care is delivered according to latest guidelines and best practice evidence available
  4. Ensure the ongoing safety of the people we support, staff and visitors through systematic assessment, monitoring and reviewing processes
  5. Ensure that clear and accurate records and communication systems relating to care and support delivery are maintained and effectively used
