Shift Manager

Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Shift Manager to join an established FMCG food manufacturing business in the Leicestershire area. This is a truly exciting time to join the business, which is currently undergoing a period of very positive change and growth. They are keen to hear from individuals who want to make a mark for themselves and further develop their career. The position is offered on a 4 on 4 off basis working 6am to 6pm.

Reporting into the Site Director, you will be responsible for all production activities and personnel within your shift (which includes direct line responsibility for 4 Team Leaders and indirect responsibility for a team of c30 Operatives) to ensure that operational targets and deadlines are met in respect of service requirements, agreed KPI's, H&S, quality and delivering to customer expectations with particular attention to managing costs and reducing waste at every opportunity. Level 2 Food Hygiene will be required.

The overriding quality however will be in your man-management expertise. You will demonstrate proven leadership within an FMCG environment (especially food manufacturing), possess excellent communication skills and be capable of providing direction with clear goals and objectives of what you want your team to achieve. You will hold regular reviews to identify areas for training and development, conduct appraisals, one to one meetings and generally coach, develop and mentor the team. It will be your responsibility to monitor and manage your teams' activities such as attendance levels, timekeeping, holidays, inductions and general employee relations. Customer service skills from a client engagement perspective demonstrating professionalism and a can-do attitude will also be required.

H&S focused with an ability to control costs through efficient planning and management of stock integrity and the application of continuous improvement initiatives in a service driven KPI environment will be at the forefront of your daily activities.
